ABOUT THE PROJECT
The project will be tackled in several phases, accompanied by wider improvements to the estate including newly landscaped grounds and garage blocks, and new play facilities for younger residents:
Phase 1
Creation of 46 modern, new, energy efficient homes for the residents of Wensley Road estate to move into. This will also create opportunities for those waiting on our housing register to move into the homes they vacate within the three blocks.
The creation of new homes will be complemented by new and improved landscaping around the estate to enhance the look and feel of it, reconfiguration of roads and enhanced parking facilities for residents.
Younger residents are also being catered for, with an investment of over £100,000 in brand new play equipment in the adjacent Courage Park, and improved play facilities in the play area between the blocks too.
Phase 1 has already begun.
Phase 2
Improvements to the three existing tower blocks with the following enhancements to be made:
- New triple glazed windows for all flats and improved external insulation
- Redesigned external elevations and entrances
- Replacement of refuse chutes and improvements to the internal waste and recycling stores
- New bike lockers
