Update on next steps for the Wensley Road estate Improvements

Published: 05th Apr, 2022

Work continues to bring a range of improvements to Wensley Road Estate.
Here are the key dates coming up, and what they will mean for residents…

4th – 8th April

Parking Restrictions for 4m length opposite entrance to 193 Wensley Road

This is to allow the lights for the pedestrian crossing to be linked to the electric supply in a lamp post, removing the risk of failure due to the battery needing replacing.

Lights fitted for pathway by 52 Lesford Road

This will result in better visibility over-night.

April

Piling to be completed for foundations of new homes

This will create unavoidable noise, but will be completed in compliance with planning requirements and only within working hours.

Virgin media to move cables

Distruption may be experienced at the south west of the site.

SSE to move cables

Short power outages expected at 193 and 205 Wensley Road – SSE will write to residents in advance with exact dates.

Late April

Construction of new homes to begin

There will be some unavoidable construction noise during this period.

May

Construction of new road at south of the site

There will be some unavoidable construction noise during this period.

Bus shelter to be erected at the temporary stop to the south of 52 Lesford Road.

This will remain in place for the duration of the construction
